The Model KL5H
Turbo-Toc® is a 5 GPM, Kidney Loop, Pressure Coalescence Turbine Oil Conditioner that continuously pumps oil from the main turbine reservoir, cleans and dries the turbine oil, and returns the turbine oil, under pressure, to the reservoir. It is designed for continuous, 24/7, operation and is engineered with continuous operation rated components. The KL5H is capable of maintaining "Reservoir Cleanliness" on a reservoir sized between 121 - 600 gallons. This unit is idea for FD - ID - PA Fan Lube Reservoirs for Lube Oils at ISO-32, ISO-46 and up ISO-68 Viscosity Lube Oils.
The Turbo-Toc® is a self-contained, skid mounted, micro-processor controlled, full status control panel, pressure coalescence system that features an automatic water drain and a totalizing water meter to help your power plant monitor water removal and/or predict critical maintenance.

DETAILED SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
#1: The KL5H is conveniently skid mounted for portability. The unit has provisions for lift truck forks. The drip pan is equipped
with two 1/2" drain ports. In the event that it is necessary to disassemble the TURBO-TOC® in order to fit it in a tight space, it is
easily disassembled. Most of the major components are bolted to the skid. The skid dimensions are height = 72.25", width = 44",
depth = 50.5". Dry weight = 1,200 pounds.
#2: Inlet connection = 1.5" ANSI 150# R.F. flange with ball valve for isolation.
#3: Suction Strainer = 1.5" cleanable 30 mesh basket type strainer with vacuum switch and panel mounted "Dirty Strainer" light.
When the strainer needs cleaning, the warning light illuminates and the system is automatically shut-down.
#4: Pump = 5 gpm gear pump with internal relief valve set at 90 psi. The rate of flow/speed of the pump is driven by a 1.5 hp
460 VAC TEFC electric motor (other voltages are available).
#5: Low Flow Monitor = In the event that the rate of flow to or from the TURBO-TOC® drops to less than 2 gpm, the unit will automatically
shut-down to prevent damage to the pump and motor.
#6: Heater = The thermostatically regulated heater increases the temperature of the oil five degrees per pass with a watt density of
16. The heater is sized to raise the temperature in an 600 gallon reservoir from 70°F to 100°F in 8 hours. The heater operates
only when the turbine oil temperature is below 100°F.
#7: Sample Port #1 = The sample port is equipped with a ball valve and pig tail for ease in taking oil samples. Oil samples taken
from this port indicate the oil cleanliness in the reservoir.
#8: Filter #1 = Pressure Particulate Filter, equipped wth 1 Kaydon Model K4000 particulate removal elements. The filter element
is a 2.8 micron absolute per ANSI/(NFPA) T3.10.8.8R1 ( β6 = 75). The element is protected an internal bypass valves set at 40
psid. No tools are required to remove the convenient "Y" top handle for filter element removal. An automatic air vent is provided.
A ball valve actuated oil drain line is connected to the 3/4" NPT oil drain port at the rear of the skid. Any water separated by the
particulate filter is automatically drained to Filter #2. ASME coded particulate vessel is available.
#9: Filter #2 = Pressure/Coalescence Water Removal Filter, equipped with 2 Kaydon Model K2000 coalescer elements and 1
Kaydon Model K3000 separator elements. The water is coalesced and separated from the oil and settles to the bottom of the vessel.
As the water level rises (the water level is visually monitored by the sight glass mounted on the side of the vessel), a military
approved automatic water control valve is opened releasing the water under pressure through the flow sight and water meter
(provides the total water discharged by Filter #2 in gallons) and flows out the 3/4" NPT water discharge port. If desired, the water
may be drained manually. Filter #2 is also equipped with a ball valve actuated oil drain line connected to the 3/4" NPT oil drain
port at the rear of the skid. ASME coded water removal filter is standard. Automatic air release external bypass valve set at 40
psid, and pressure relief valve set at 150 psi.
#10: Sample Port #2 = The sample port is equipped with a ball valve and pig tail for ease in taking oil samples. Oil samples taken
from this port indicate the oil cleanliness after processing by the TURBO-TOC&re3g;.
#11: Outlet Connection = 1" ANSI 150# R.F. flange with ball valve for isolation.
#12: Full Status Control Panel = (Single Electrical Connection, Standard Unit Service Requirement = 400 volt AC, 3 phase, 20
amp.). The status of the TURBO-TOC® can be easily monitored by observing the control panel
gauges and indicator lights. All vital systems are monitored. The full system is protected by safety bypass valves.
#13: Differential pressure gauges monitor filters. Filters should be changed at differential pressure of 25 psid, and are connected
to indicator lights on the panel. The gauge panel is mounted below the control panel.
